Case Study
Summit
This hillside home-away-from-home lacked outdoor entertainment spaces. With the main living space on the second floor and garage below, outdoor access is a deck accessible from the upstairs kitchen.
The kitchen deck bridges over to an outdoor fireplace and stone patio. Below the kitchen deck is a larger entertainment deck with an outdoor kitchen. The outdoor fireplace and walls are a mix of two different colors of dry-stack tumbled stone.

Project Info
The walking surface of these decks are made from ipe wood (brazilian walnut). This was our first time to use this material and it is extremely hard and durable. It has a specific gravity of 1.08 which means that it is so dense that it does not float!
